TLCD ARCHITECTURE OFFICE

Santa Rosa, CA | Complete

The move to our new office at Museum on the Square marks TLCD’s 51st year anniversary and is designed to adapt and flex as needs change in the future. The design team chose to accentuate the 16’ high ceiling and allow the natural concrete character of the structure to shine in an open plan environment. By exposing the building systems in the space, the relationship of architecture with mechanical systems, electrical routing and plumbing is thoughtfully composed.

An expansive industrial glass garage door in our main conference room opens to our studio workspace for large presentations and weekly gatherings which celebrate an important aspect of our firm culture. A simple furniture benching system supports all employees, from Partner to Intern and encourages collaboration and mentoring.

Acoustical concerns are addressed with carpeted areas, felt panel screens along the circulation path and tackable acoustical panels. A simple black and white color palette compliments the sandblasted and polished concrete. Warm natural MDF and restrained use of blue accents renders a very creative and urban environment.
