Aurora Psychiatric Hospital

Santa Rosa, CA

Surrounded by graceful trees and serene landscaping, this completely renovated single story building houses a modern behavioral health psychiatric hospital.

HEALTHY PLACEMAKING

The opening of Aurora’s Psychiatric Hospital in Santa Rosa marked the return of inpatient mental health services, which had been absent from Sonoma County since 2008. The 52,000 square foot renovation accommodates neighborhoods of different age groups including teens, seniors and adults and offers a supportive environment to those in crisis as well as the professionals who care for them.

Waiting rooms, hallways and common zones were remodeled with warm and welcoming colors, new furniture and plenty of artwork. All 92 inpatient rooms are semi-private with en-suite bathrooms and courtyard views.

PATIENT – STAFF CONNECTIONS

Health care providers work from highly visible nurses stations, secure administrative zones and self-contained exam or consultation rooms. Their ability to monitor dining areas, activity and exercise rooms means that patients and visitors can relax and know that their needs are provided for.

Exterior spaces are available to patients, family members and staff to connect with nature and promote healing.
