Jason Brabo, AIA, LEED AP BD+C

Principal, Healthcare Practice Leader

A passion for healthcare architecture is evident in Jason’s rigorous and thoughtful approach to creating healing environments for both staff and patients alike. He prides himself on bringing a proactive and collaborative style to project teams, and enjoys working with clients, consultants and contractors to solve complex problems. Jason believes that design is part and parcel with each project, whether it’s a small equipment-based remodel or a new hospital. This, combined with a calm and orderly management style, fosters an energetic team spirit amongst the architects and designers under his leadership.

Jason’s role as Principal also includes a proactive approach to firm-wide management tasks where he provides oversight to our operations manager and accounting team. A firm believer in accountability, Jason encourages staff to understand contractual responsibility and focus their work to achieve project goals. Recruitment is one of his favorite activities – he loves learning about people interested in working with TLCD, whether they are looking for a summer internship or a project architect position.

After 23 years of solid experience in healthcare architecture, Jason knows his way around OSHPD. Amazingly, the restrictive code requirements and intense paperwork involved in healthcare architecture don’t seem to get him down. He and his team laugh a lot throughout the day, and embrace the idea that there is more than one answer to any question. Be prepared to find creativity and space for personal growth on his team where his management style is all about mentorship and opportunity!

When I’m not tutoring my teenage sons in math, we’re having a blast together at a rock concert. This gives me plenty of material for my bad ‘dad’ jokes.
