As TLCD celebrates our 60th year in business, we’re especially proud to be recognized by our team as a Best Places to Work winner for the ninth time! There’s a unique alchemy that happens when creative professionals come together—building a vibrant workplace culture, collaborating on meaningful community projects, and achieving a fulfilling balance between work and life.

None of this happens without our great team. Here’s a look at some of the fun and success from this past year.

Erin Douglas kept the donations flowing through the monthly themed food drive with the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Our team also loves getting out in the community and had a great time bagging food at Food For Thought in Forestville.

We welcomed 3 new team members: Larry Padron who provides invaluable project administration support. Designers Yaël Rémy, and Justin Leonard hit the ground running with their stellar 3D modeling and rendering skills.

Cheers to well-deserved promotions for Mitchell Price who was promoted to Project Captain, Lauren Mazza who was promoted to Senior Interior Designer, and Ian Health who is our newest Project Architect. Jessica Guo joined us as a summer intern before finishing her senior year at the Cal Poly Pomona Architecture program.

What better way to embrace the winter months than a TLCD chili cook off. The crock pots were on parade with all the fixings and accompanying sides and we voted on the best texture, aroma, taste and heat. Heather Kahnberg took home the win and the coveted ‘chili champion’ apron.

Getting out for site tours is part of the architectural practice and is an important learning tool and way to share the diversity of our projects. The SRJC Tauzer Gymnasium modernization project is nearing completion on the Santa Rosa campus. Our team toured the Foley Family Community Pavilion in Healdsburg earlier this year and we’re excited for the City to welcome the public for events.

Landmark Vineyards provided the perfect venue for our summer picnic and was a great way to spend time with our extended families. With wine flowing, the aroma of brick oven pizza in the air, and an unexpected September rainstorm, we all had a great time!

If you don’t enter you don’t win… the Froggy 92.9 Radio Free Friday Lunch contest! TLCD won a delicious lunch from Downtown BBQ in Santa Rosa. Matthias Schwarz took the lead on two high school career fairs at Piner and Elsie Allen High Schools where he shared insights into career paths in architecture and interior design.

The new Classroom Building at Montgomery High School had a well-attended ribbon cutting and welcomed new students into a state-of-the-art two story building. The construction and design team brought in some “Monty” swag and had a taco bar set up for students, staff and the public.

It’s been a great year so far. Many thanks to the North Bay Business Journal for this award, and congratulation to all the 2025 Best Places to Work winners!
