Congratulations to Stacey Walker and Lauren Davis, two of our in-house Interior Designers on becoming NCIDQ certified professionals!
The National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) is an independent, nonprofit organization that works to identify to the public, those interior designers who have met industry standards for professional practice. Becoming NCIDQ Certified is considered the highest benchmark of the Interior Design profession. The test covers seven areas: building systems, codes, construction standards, contract administration, design application, professional practice and project coordination.
There are a few different paths a person can take in order to qualify to take the test, but you must have a combination of education and work experience to qualify. Both Stacey and Lauren felt there was a great advantage in taking the test further into their careers – with the backing of more work experience. There isn’t any better knowledge that that gained in practice.
In addition to being the industry’s indicator of proficiency in interior design principles, it also demonstrates a strong commitment to the profession. It should give our clients added confidence in the caliber of work coming from our talented team here at TLCD.
Cheers from all your colleagues!
