Cal Poly Wine & Viticulture Center Receives $1 Million Donation

The new JUSTIN and J. LOHR Center for Wine and Viticulture at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo is one step closer to realization after receiving a generous $1 million donation from alumni to fund the Swanson Center of Effort Conference Hall within the Grange Building. TLCD Architecture has been involved in this 100% donor-funded project since it’s inception through early renderings that supported fundraising efforts. Currently under construction, the 15,6000 square foot Winery is scheduled for completion in late fall of this year, and the 12,000 square foot Grange Hall in March 2021.

 

Winery

The epoxy floor coating at the Fermentation Hall has just been completed. The stainless steel catwalk expected delivery date is August 3. After catwalk installation, the Winery Systems MEP will extend to the tank locations at the Fermentation Hall. Winery tank delivery is anticipated for August 24. Interior drywall is complete and painting is scheduled to start in two weeks. Storefront systems and doors are nearing completion.

Grange Hall

Exterior metal wall panels, gutters and trims are nearing completion. Rough-in MEP’s are in progress and drywall is anticipated to begin the week of August 10. TPO roofing system at the mechanical well is complete and installation of HVAC equipment will begin in August.
