AIA Redwood Empire Design Awards 2018

AIA Redwood Empire Design Awards

October 4, 2018

Where does one go to partake in fine cheeses, wood-fired pizza, Hog Island Oysters, Sonoma County wines, craft beers and scrumptious desserts – all while viewing some of the finest architectural projects in Northern California? The 2018 AIA Redwood Empire Design Awards of course!

The bi-annual event was held at Saralee and Richard’s Barn at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. The AIA Redwood Empire Chapter facilitates this competition with the winning projects selected by an invited panel of nationally-renowned jurists from the architectural design community. Projects that are designed by Redwood Empire chapter architects, or projects located in the chapter area are eligible for awards.

There were nearly 50 projects submitted for awards this year, and all were on display at the event (there’s some very nice architecture being designed in our corner of the world!) With 10 people attending from TLCD, we were thrilled to be recognized with two awards – a Merit Award for the Sonoma State Wine Spectator Learning Center, and an Honor Award (the highest award level) for the Pavilion at 3 North in Healdsburg.
