WEST COLLEGE UTILITIES FACILITY, CITY OF SANTA ROSA

As a final phase build-out of the Corporation Yard of the City of Santa Rosa, this facility is home to the Utility Department’s Engineering Division, Operations, and Shops Building. It also contains major training rooms to be shared among all City Departments.
Working within the City’s master plan for the site, TLCD conducted a series of programming meetings with each of the Departments for the facility to clarify needs and provide leadership toward architectural solutions. The full architectural services included interior design and furniture selection.
The buildings are grouped to form an outdoor square that features “orchard” parking as a forecourt to the buildings. Extensive sustainable design features are integrated into the buildings and site work, including roof-top photovoltaic panels, innovative storm-water management systems, interior day lighting, and ultra-efficient heating and cooling equipment. This was one of the first commercial projects to be approved within the requirements of the City of Santa Rosa’s Green Building Development Program.
