This world-class facility will utilize technology & systems developed by Siemens Medical Solutions and will strive to achieve LEED Platinum certification from the USGBC.
The Cancer Treatment Center is planned as the initial redevelopment project on the north island and is contiguous to the proposed 190 acre University Village and Health Science Research Campus. Once in operation the facility will have a major impact on how cancer is treated regionally, nationally and internationally.
The conceptual building program for the 125,000 GSF Particle Therapy Center calls for medical offices/admissions, conference facilities, treatment planning, diagnostic area, treatment rooms, healing gardens and atrium. The design for the facility provides a reassuring, calming, healing environment for the patient from the point of arrival to leaving the center through the use of appropriate organizational concepts, forms, proportions, materials/finishes and colors.
