Corporate identity: An essential goal for the design of Cork Supply USA’s headquarters office was to use the Lobby, Conference Room and Lab as a showcase to educate and promote the use of cork products in the wine and viticulture industry. The Sensory Lab is visible from the Lobby and through a display gallery which houses artwork related to the cork and wine industry. The Lab itself is a quiet and neutral area in which the subtle work of matching cork to wine is conducted.
Materiality: A connection to the natural beauty of Northern California “Wine Country” was made through use of regional materials found in the vineyard. Natural slate flooring mimics the tones of the earth; recycled wood flooring suggests a relationship to oak wine barrels; and a lime plaster feature wall showcases a traditional building material used by wineries for generations.
Furniture: The emphasis on quality in Cork Supply’s products is reflected in the use of high quality, customized wood casegoods in the Guest Reception, Executive Offices and Conference Room. The Staff Lounge, which is used by both administrative and warehouse personnel, reflects the culture of the company that is exemplified by family-style gatherings for meals and wine tasting.
