Petaluma, CA
Under the management of St. Joseph’s Health System, Petaluma Valley Hospital asked TLCD to design a new space for a cutting edge CT-Scanner. With the new high resolution technology the hospital is able to diagnose patient illnesses more accurately and efficiently than ever before.
From the earliest stages of the project, the design team worked collaboratively with the local facility to mitigate the user’s concerns over construction activity within an operational hospital. We also assisted the client with planning for temporary CT-Scanner services onsite to avoid disruption to patient care while the new space was under construction.
The lighting and interior finishes were designed to soften the otherwise intimidating nature of the radiology equipment. By specifying sustainable finishes like natural linoleum flooring and zero odor paints, we not only created an environment that is soothing to the patients but also sensitive to the staff.
San Rafae1, CA
Realizing a shift in interventional radiology, Kaiser Permanente asked TLCD to design an innovative combination IR/Cath Lab for their San Rafael medical center. The project was the first of its kind for Kaiser and was designed to meet the needs of the radiologist while also providing a non-invasive catheterization laboratory for the cardiologist.
In addition to the IR/Cath treatment room, several ancillary support spaces were required including: patient preparation, soiled utility, physician consultation, clean linen, control room and scrub room.
The radiology equipment is suspended by a 3 ton steel gantry above the hung ceiling, making it possible for the automated arm to swivel 360º.
